Simbie Health

AI powered practice in a box for nurse practitioners in women's health

We enable providers, starting with nurse practitioners (NPs), to start and grow independent digital practices, more than doubling their income. We are building an AI care coordinator that automates the office manager/admin required to run a practice, removing the need to hire, trimming the 16;1 admin:provider ratio in healthcare today, and thus reducing the barrier to entry for clinicians to go independent. By building our fully digital workflows into the fabric of these new practices, we're improving efficiency and unlocking new healthcare delivery revenue streams (e.g. async care & group visits).

Company Launches

Hi! We’re Natalia Perina, Rachel O’Driscoll, and Natalia Khosla MD and we’re excited to share how we’re expanding access to women’s primary care.

TL;DR

Simbie Health gives women’s health providers, starting with the over 250,000 APRNs (advanced practice registered nurses), the software they need to start their own, virtual-first practices. States have responded to the alarming shortage of women’s health physicians by passing laws that allow APRNs to practice solo, but opening a practice is complex and costly. Simbie handles everything from getting patients to billing so providers can thrive independently.

The Problem: It is too time-consuming and expensive to open a private practice

During medical school, and growing up in a family of doctors, Natalia Khosla saw mentors and family be pushed out of their independent practices, unable to compete administratively with large hospital group consolidations. Providers talked about losing control of their schedules and practice styles, being pressured to see more patients faster, and watching their incomes decline. This trend has pushed many providers to burn out and leave medicine, and quality of patient care has suffered. The problem is particularly dire in women’s health, with up to 60% of providers reporting burnout and many considering alternate careers. Providers want to practice on their own terms, but opening a practice is difficult.

Our Solution: Digital-First Practice Setup

We provide the all-inclusive starter kit for providers to open and run their own, digital-first women’s health practices, cheaper and more efficiently. We handle the most difficult parts of opening a practice: credentialing with insurance, electronic health record (EHR) setup, billing & revenue cycle management (RCM), and marketing for new patients. Our platform allows providers to grow their practices and compete with existing hospital groups through a kick-ass patient experience that is powered by AI patient intake and novel care models like group visits.

Our Story & Team

Our team has been in healthcare for over 20 years combined. After collectively being friends, working together, and scheming about how to reshape women’s health for over 10 years (including as roommates at Yale and colleagues at TrialSpark), we decided to make waves. We are on a mission to leverage technology to expand access to women’s primary care—helping providers practice how they prefer and improving quality of care.
