About the role

We’re looking for a founding engineer to join our team of 3 as our first hire! You will lead the technical development and deployment of our patient + clinician experiences and work with us to iteratively design + ship the next generation of our product.

You will play a critical role in defining our culture, scaling our team, and defining our product roadmap. We’re looking for someone who is excited about joining a small startup, is passionate about our mission to enable independent practice in women's health, and can hit the ground running as a technical lead from day one. And is fun to work with :)

Note: Since this role will have an outsized impact on our team, culture, and direction, we'd like to start out on a 1 month contract before moving to a full time offer.

Tech Stack

This is a full stack role. Our current stack is: React, Typescript, NextJS(Serverless), PostgreSQL (Supabase). Experience with Typescript and React is a must!

Core responsibilities:

  • UI/UX: You have a good eye for design and can build intuitive, patient centric software for our clinicians without needing a lot of prescriptive direction
  • Integrations with EMR/Claims/Labs: Integrate our software with external vendors such as our EMR or Billing vendors
  • Scalability: Design, develop, and deploy scalable software solutions for our platform while understanding that (some) tradeoffs in scalability may be acceptable in the early days
  • Team/Leadership: Take charge and lead future engineering hires, fostering a strong culture of collaboration and innovation
  • Continuous iteration: continuously iterate on the product based on user feedback
  • Product Roadmap & Vision: Collaborate with our founders to develop the product roadmap vision based on feedback from users and stakeholders
  • Working with LLMs: Research and validate how we can safely deploy LLMs in our products & ship responsible AI to our end users

You’d likely be a good fit for this role if:

  • You have a strong technical background, including 3+ years of experience designing and engineering intuitive user experiences
  • You work well cross-functionally, care about your coworkers, and are excited to be a part of a team!
  • You are scrappy, and can make informed decisions around prioritization, understanding the trade-offs between speed, cost, and quality
  • You understand best practices for building scalable systems and working with front end technologies
  • You lean towards straightforward solutions and have intuition for what is enduring and scalable
  • You are excited about growing a technical team that is comprised of a diverse group of people with different areas of expertise
  • You are excited about joining us on a journey to find product market fit, and are OK with the potential for ambiguity in your role!
  • You are excited about working in healthcare

Bonus points:

  • You have experience working in healthcare or other regulated industries
  • You have experience working with LLMs and shipping AI in regulated environments
