About the role

Why join Pave? At Pave, our vision is simple - Make Compensation Fair.

How are we going to get there? By building the most intelligent compensation platform, powered by the largest real-time compensation dataset on earth.

We partner with our customers to help them build and retain world-class teams through planning, communicating and benchmarking their team’s compensation in real time. And you don’t have to just hear it from us — you can hear it from our customers: Hover, Sweetgreen, Airtable and more.

We’re growing fast, building an incredible team and product, and having plenty of fun as we do it in our San Francisco and New York City offices.

If stretching the rubber band, building with intellectual honesty and focusing on impact sounds exciting - we highly encourage you to reach out. We’d love to partner on our journey to change the world of compensation!

DevOps @ Pave The DevOps team at Pave manages the infrastructure and facilities development velocity for our Software Engineers. We are looking to create scalable, secure, and robust infrastructure architecture using IAC and implementing self-service methodologies wherever we can. As a Senior DevOps Engineer we are looking for you to help engineer our infrastructure stack, enable IaC and Self-Service, and improve our organization’s development velocity.

What we're looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience as a DevOps engineer or site reliability engineer
  • Knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, etc) with deep knowledge in GCP preferred
  • Experience in system and process scalability
  • Experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Bash, Typescript)
  • Exposure to architectural patterns for Serverless based applications
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code methodologies and implementation especially using Terraform

What you'll get out of it:

  • Exposure: DevOps sits at the center of engineering. We work with every engineering team on almost every initiative at Pave
  • Leadership: You will be directly responsible for setting the tone and nature of best practices going forward
  • Impact: You have the opportunity to act as a force multiplier at an exciting, growing company! Pave is still at an early enough stage where you can have a lasting impact on how we do business going forward
  • Experience: We are looking to provide solutions to improve our workflows as well as trailblazing new ways of solving problems at the company. This will involve new tools, processes, procedures
  • Work in a true DevOps culture. Many shops give lip service to a DevOps culture in engineering, Pave actually implements a DevOps culture throughout engineering

A final note — we highly encourage you to apply for this role, even if you don’t feel entirely qualified, or entirely sure. You never know!
