Founding Software Engineer

We're building open-source tools to help companies do realtime data analysis. Our product is helping companies move terabytes of data into their warehouse without any devops. Our main product is open-source and is approaching 1k stars on Github.

This role is in-person in Brooklyn, NY.

About the Role

You will be our first full-time engineering hire, working alongside the founder. This is primarily a backend role, but you will wear many hats, including devops, and frontend dashboards.

At our stage, the most important thing is iteration speed: we launch new features, ask for feedback from users, and iterate. You will be the primary engineer responsible for executing on an ambitious roadmap.

This is a full-time position, with healthcare, vacation, and equity.

About You

We're looking for people who want to have a front-row seat at an early-stage startup.

• You highly value launching to production, even if the code is a little messy
• You're comfortable with Go programming including (goroutines, channels, and other go idioms)
• You wear many hats: Databases, Javascript, and the command-line are all part of the job
• You're excited about building open-source software

The interview has three steps:

1. Initial Zoom call where we talk about you, your career so far, and what you are looking for in your next role.
2. Take-home project to implement a small version of our product. We'll send more details, and it should take about 2 hours.
3. A paid work trial. You'll work alongside us via Slack for a few days on the project for 2-5 days. We will pay you a daily rate for this and we'll ship real code. We are flexible in terms of scheduling days and times for this, as we know it's a real commitment. We only do this once we've established that we're really interested in working together.
