What is the core problem you are solving? Why is this a big problem? What made you decide to work on it?
Double is trying to democratize access to sophisticated financial tools that are often available only to the rich. By letting anyone build a custom direct indexed portfolio, we are providing something that previously was only available through expensive financial advisors (that charge about 1% per year). The financial advisor industry is one of the largest markets in the world, with roughly $114,100,000,000,000 (that’s trillion) of assets under management registered with the SEC. We think we can meaningfully change the industry by putting control over people’s finances back in their own hands and letting them control their destiny.
