About the role

The Role:

Spellbrush, the world’s leading generative AI studio behind niji・journey, is looking for a strategic marketer who will elevate our next anime AI-powered game to new heights, reaching audiences through both paid and organic campaigns.

What you’ll do:

Own the promotional efforts of our next anime AI-powered game, leveraging our unique technology and assets to stand out from the crowd

Own the planning and execution of user acquisition campaigns across various channels, with support for analysis and asset creation if needed

Monitor and analyze active marketing campaigns for optimization and the build-out of our marketing strategy playbook

Run experiments to prove out new user acquisition channels at various stages of our game launch (pre-launch, post-launch, regularly planned updates, etc.)

Work with the Creative Director and CEO to inform and guide the branding and cohesive product identity of our next game as well as the branding of our company, Spellbrush

You might be a great fit if:

You know how to direct marketing strategy

We’re looking for someone with 3+ years of marketing experience, with 2+ years in the mobile game industry. In previous roles, you’ve been immersed in executing marketing campaigns with demonstrable quantitative results, determining ideal marketing channels, and owning the go-to-market roadmap.

You’re a sleuth for product positioning and community engagement in the live-service mobile game space.

From community identification, competitor research, and sentiment analysis, you know how to find, analyze, and execute on the most critical information for building a strong marketing vehicle. You’re familiar with pre-launch, post-launch, and content update marketing cycles and various promotional verticals as we expand and grow our presence.

You’re eager to expand your marketing repertoire.

We’re not looking for a one-trick pony - even if you’re the best AdWords consultant out there! We want to honor our diverse, global audiences - so while ad placement campaigns will be core to your function, we’re looking for a flexible, roll-up-your-sleeves marketer who can make meaningful contributions to our website UI, plan social media playbooks for our own accounts, and/or edit brand-enhancing copy.

It's no secret – we're huge anime enthusiasts. A deep understanding of audiences who enjoy anime, mobile gacha games, and turn-based tactics games (think Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy Tactics, and X-Com) is critical to build successful connectivity across our marketing channels.

You’re nimble and adaptable to evolving marketing trends

For both anime mobile gacha games and our niji・journey mobile app, trends, competitor approaches, and critical keywords change daily. You’re not only aware of, but eager to be ahead of (or better yet - creating!) these trends.

You're comfortable working on small, fast-paced, on-site teams

Working here will feel very much like a small indie studio: close-knit, with high ownership and flexibility. We’re also an in-person studio. Our games team is at our office in downtown San Francisco, CA, 3-4x a week!

And you're excited about the potential of Generative AI.

You'll also be working closely with some of the best AI researchers in the world. Part of working with our team will involve looking at our latest research results and figuring out how to apply them to the game best. You will be at the cutting edge of what is possible with machine learning, art, and games.
